Jawset has released Postshot 1.1.43, which adds SPZ version 4 export and an option to limit spherical harmonic degree at write time.

Postshot has carried a Max SH Degree control since the Splat3 profile arrived in V.6, but that setting applies during training. Capping degree at export instead means a single trained scene can be written out at several sizes, full degree for a hero turntable and degree zero or one for a web build, without retraining anything. A quality setting for SPZ exports lands alongside it.

SPZ version 4 replaced the format's single stream GZip with six parallel ZSTD streams and removed the ten million point ceiling when Niantic Spatial shipped it in May. Reaching that format out of Postshot previously meant exporting to an intermediate and converting through splat-transform or the SPZ command line tools. Postshot is not the first application to write version 4, OctaneRender 2026.4 added support earlier, but it is among the first dedicated training applications to emit it directly.

The build adds an HTML export target. Jawset has not published what that export produces, whether it bundles a viewer, or which renderer it targets.

The SfM stage can now apply GPS geo-location metadata to cameras and points, moving a reconstruction out of an arbitrary local frame and toward a georeferenced one. Postshot will also import point clouds that carry no color attributes, so geometry only output from LiDAR and survey pipelines no longer needs a fabricated color channel to serve as an initialization source.

The Unreal plugin picks up 5.8, continuing a progression from 5.6 at V1.0 and 5.7 at V1.1. Photometric Compensation, which corrects exposure and white balance drift across a capture, gains a command line option and becomes scriptable for batch and farm processing. A user interface hang was fixed, and the Home Camera reset now animates.

Jawset documents major versions only in its published release notes, where the most recent entry remains V1.1 from May, so point builds reach users through the build listing instead.

It is available now.
