XGRIDS has released LCC Scan 2.0.0, which turns its PortalCam companion app into a standalone 3D scanner running entirely on an iPhone. LCC Scan's job in XGRIDS' October 2025 software release was connecting to a PortalCam, controlling capture and delivering incremental firmware updates. The App Store description still opens by calling LCC Scan the companion app for XGRIDS spatial camera, and the version line beneath it reads 2.0.0.

Capture runs in three modes, Portrait for people and clothing, Object for figures and collectibles, and Free, which the release notes call Free Space. An on-screen scan sphere marks which angles have been recorded, and a scan takes about a minute.

Reconstruction offers Fast and High Quality. XGRIDS reports that on an iPhone 17 Pro at 100 percent scan completion, Fast finished in 1 minute 37 seconds and High Quality in 2 minutes 19 seconds. XGRIDS does not state the scene size or the resulting splat count, and both numbers come from a single device.

LCC Scan runs 3D Gaussian reconstruction on the device.

Capture and reconstruction both complete on the phone, with no upload and no server queue, and the App Store privacy card declares that the developer collects no data. XGRIDS also calls LCC Scan a standout among 3D scanner apps for finishing reconstruction on the device, without naming the apps it is measured against.

LCC Scan is a free 411.8 MB download, and on-device reconstruction requires an iPhone 13 or later, or an iPad Air 5th generation or later, running iOS 17 or later. Devices below that bar keep the connect and scan behavior, and an Android version is planned with no date attached.

Export runs through LCC Cloud, where Model Editor writes PLY and LCC2. XGRIDS lists direct in-app export of both formats as coming soon. Sharing covers a one-tap auto-orbit video and an interactive link anyone can open.

XGRIDS puts the phone at the small end of the LCC ecosystem, with PortalCam, Lixel K2 and Lixel L2 Pro covering buildings, campuses and full sites. Someone who has been carrying a PortalCam to capture a single figurine can now do it with the phone already in hand and bring the result into the same LCC Cloud workflow. LCC Scan 2.0.0 is available now on the App Store.
