XGRIDS designs handheld SLAM scanning hardware and the Lixel CyberColor software that turns its captures into 3D Gaussian splats. Lixel, XGRIDS Lixel and Lixel CyberColor are registered trademarks of Shenzhen XGRIDS Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. The Lixel L2 brought handheld LiDAR into radiance field work in March 2024, and Lixel CyberColor followed the next month as the reconstruction layer built on top of it. The hardware line now runs from the LixelKity K1 and Lixel K2 handheld scanners through the Lixel L2 Pro to PortalCam, which XGRIDS positions as a spatial camera built for gaussian splatting.

LCC fuses the LiDAR and camera data a scanner records in one pass, so point geometry participates in optimization instead of only seeding it. XGRIDS states a processing ratio between one to twenty and one to thirty, putting five minutes of capture at 100 to 150 minutes of reconstruction, and puts LCC output at roughly a fifth the size of comparable data types. LCC Studio is the desktop application that runs reconstruction locally, LCC Scene Editor is where models are navigated, measured, annotated and published, and LCC Model Editor handles model level cleanup. XGRIDS recommends an Intel i9 12th generation processor, an RTX 3070 or better, and 64 GB of memory, and ships LCC Studio as a single iso for offline installation.

LCC Studio V2.2.0 exports lcc, lcc2, ply, usd and 3D Tiles, and can write a triangulated untextured mesh as obj or ply alongside an lcc export. Legacy lcc compresses 70 to 90 percent against traditional formats. LCC2 arrived as a container wrapping either SOG or SPZ, with SOG the default, which XGRIDS puts at an 8 to 26 times reduction, or SPZ, which it puts at about 10 times and which carries compatibility with the Niantic and Scaniverse ecosystem. A single lcc2 file uses one compression format and the two are never mixed, and converting a legacy lcc model to lcc2 is a one way upgrade with no rollback. SuperSplat added lcc2 import in version 2.30, and Arrival.Space reads the format directly.

The 3D Tiles export targets OGC 3D Tiles 1.1 and carries up to 4 million Gaussian points, with a v2 profile using SPZ v2 compression for Cesium 1.31 and later and a v1 legacy profile for Cesium 1.20 through 1.30, so a splat loads in Cesium or ArcGIS with no secondary conversion. On the engine side XGRIDS ships LCC4Unreal and the LCC Unity SDK. LCC4Unreal v3.0 added PLY, SOG and SPZ ingestion along with DLSS and an ACES and OCIO color pipeline, and v3.3.1 extended format reading to SPZ v2 as exported by Marble, raised the size ceiling on SOG, SPZ and PLY models, moved rendering to a GPU driven indirect draw, added SingleLayerWater support, replaced Unreal's GeoReferencing with a built in PROJ library, and added NavMesh collision so AI agents can path across a splat. That release also rotates SOG, SPZ and PLY actors around X on import to match external gaussian splatting conventions, raises the default collision load distance to 300 metres, and ships the editor interface in Chinese, German, French, Japanese and Korean. LCC for Revit carries the same models into BIM authoring.

V2.2.0 makes drone RTK optional. With the toggle off the software ignores recorded RTK entirely and reconstructs from pure visual structure from motion, producing a model without absolute coordinates and asking for forward overlap of at least 80 percent and side overlap of at least 70 percent. Aerial reconstruction accepts 100 to 10,000 JPG images above 1024 by 768 at a consistent resolution. The same release adds image sequence reconstruction from a local folder of 50 to 1,000 images at up to 4090 pixels per side, alongside the video path that takes mp4, mov and webm up to roughly 1,000 seconds at 720p through 4K with selectable sampling of one, two or four frames per second.

LCC Studio is free after registration, and the premium tier, which requires an authorization code from XGRIDS sales, unlocks map fusion, aerial reconstruction, aerial ground fusion, HD enhancement, spatial recognition and every export format, which places all export behind the paid tier. XGRIDS captures have appeared in CyArk's America 250 Tapestry collection and in a PGA championship reconstruction with Radiant Images, Voluma began supporting LCC files in September 2025, and Volinga and XGRIDS announced a partnership that same month.
